“We need a little less Forever 21 and a little more Suddenly 42”
- What is this movie about?
Two sisters go back to their hometown as their parents are selling their childhood house and they need to clean up their bedrooms. But saying goodbye to their childhood might get out of hand when they celebrate a party with their old school friends…
- Why should you watch it?
Because there are two great things in this movie: Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Every single time these two share some screen time, either on a movie, at SNL or at the Golden Globes, you cannot look away from it. they really steal the show wherever they are and whatever they do. So please just watch this movie to see (as always) their on-screen chemistry.
Besides those two, and their amazing performances, the movie plot is not bad either. If you are looking for a deep thinking movie, just get out of here. But if, on the other hand, you want just to have some laughs and think about nothing this is your movie! Forty somethings going back to their hometown and reminescencing their old times, who hasn’t thought about that even in their twenties!!? There are many funny gags in this movie and please believe me when I say I couldn’t stop laughing for a single second. This is not a cheesy movie, but something we all can be related to (even when we are being ridiculous).
When are they going to do another movie? Do we have to wait long!??
- Did you know?
– Paula Pell wrote the two roles of the sisters just for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
– Pazuzu, the name of the imposing drug dealer played by John Cena, is also the name of the demon that possesses the young girl (Regan MacNeil, played by Linda Blair) in The Exorcist (1973).
– In their previous movie together Baby Mama (2008), Amy Poehler played the “bad girl” and Tina Fey played the “good girl”. This time, the roles are reversed.
